I must admit when I first began to read Lee Child, I wasn't all that impressed, but his book "The Affair" was good enough to make me very curious if he could pull it off. After reading this installment in the Jack Reacher series, I'm coming to be a believer. If you want to know what so called best selling authors like Patterson, should read like, here is a great example.

  • I like Jack Reacher.
This is not one of my favourite ones, but it's good to see him with his old mates, and to meet Neagley again.

  • "Reacher said nothing"

Mr. Child must have a macro on his word processor that types that phrase. It must appear at least 30 times in every Reacher novel. It really has become part of the charm of the series...kind of an inside joke between him and his readers. And sometimes other characters also get to say nothing ;-)

  • Jack Reacher

This is the latest in the Jack Reacher series. He is an ex Military Cop that is now a part time drifter carrying nothing but some cash and a fold up tooth brush. Someone is killing his old team and Jack aims to find out who! This is more of the same, if you have read the other books from Lee Childs ... (continue)

This is the latest in the Jack Reacher series. He is an ex Military Cop that is now a part time drifter carrying nothing but some cash and a fold up tooth brush. Someone is killing his old team and Jack aims to find out who! This is more of the same, if you have read the other books from Lee Childs, with the no nonsense jack causing mayhem and using a sledge hammer where a feather might have done. I find it hard to put these books down as Jack, for all his Quirks and brutality, is a modern day hero!
