Alice Munro's stories claim concentration in reading, but the writing style is always elastic and simple.
Some of them have a vague end, even if we can indirectly deduce an explanation through suggestions and reminiscences of the characters.
All her tales include stories inside stories and they are settled in small Canadian towns, which represent the life of the whole continents.
The melancholy of the past atmosphere permeate the complete work which symbolizes the tragedy of more than a few singular lives.
But although these problematical lives, Munro's stories are rich of positive passages that validate her value as a writer.
Moreover the tales analyze the family structure and the relationship between the individual and his similar.
They illustrate the characters from an uncommon perspective, describing the several human states, through different times and environments.
Sometimes our connection is frayed, it is in danger, it seems almost lost. Views and streets deny knowledge of us, the air grows thin. Wouldn't we rather have a destiny to submit to, then, something that claims us, anything, instead of such flimsy choices, arbitrary days?
