A really wonderful young adult fantasy novel - Pullman's done a remarkable job with this and the other two books. My favourite book of the trilogy.

Breathtaking. The most enjoyable series of books I've read in a long time.

  • The Subtle Knife-Not quite as good as the first

This book was OK and I enjoyed it (so much that when i managed to lose it, i had to borrow it off a mate!) however it was not as good as the first book, Northern Lights. I suppose this is to be expected but I hope the last book is better otherwise this trilogy could have a very disappointing end! :)

  • Second Book from the His Dark Material Trilogy. I have come to love this Trilogy for the prose, the wit and, over all, the characters. They're so true to themselves even in their imperfections.
