Perhaps it was the heightened expectations, or that I had already read a decades worth of "Watchmen-inspired" graphic novels, but this really fell flat for me. Watchmen is a fine superhero comic but transcending the genre? I don't see it. In fact, I had a hard time seeing the last twenty or so pages. By the end of the book, I felt like Dr. Manhattan: slightly bored and totally indifferent.
A definetly good book. Can't wait till the movie.
Every bit the masterpiece that everyone says it is. You truly have to read it to understand why.
So unlike any of your preconceived notions of "comics" (even if you like comics). This is a dense, fun, rewarding read that is more concerned with examining people than the superheroes they play.
