  she is so passive and anonymous... We have to wait one century to have more complex female characters. she is simply carried away by the events and doesn't react... quite disturbing...

  Il romanzo assomiglia a un lungo riassunto, ma la scrittura di Defoe è di straordinaria scioltezza. Ricorrentemente l'autore, per bocca della sua protagonista, ammonisce, rimprovera, rimpiange, mette in guardia rispetto agli esempi negativi dati dalla vita narrata, ma ho il sospetto l'abbia fatto col sorriso sulle labbra. Moll Flanders è un personaggio interessante, lucidamente non amabile, tra ruberie e inganni, però sincero nel raccontarsi e capace di sentimenti veri.

  Terrible!

  This is probably the worst book I've ever read in my life! More dead white men prate at loose women. Pamela I guess would have been just as bad. But why do so many people have this on their shelves? Why?
