These stories definitely swallow you up like only a truly great book can. And while I have a lot of books I love and have read over and over, I can't really think of the last one that had this kind of effect on me. (Discounting Twilight, since it's still the same story.) Stephenie Meyer may be claiming her own Revered Author Shelf in my room!

    • The beginning of this book had potential, however, it spirals downward fast.

Bella slowly becomes a character that I can tolerate less and less. There are new characters introduced into the story with potential themselves.

Overall, I just felt that this book dragged on and on. Nothing memorable stood out from it that contributed to positive character or story growth.

    • " When the Cullens, including her beloved Edward, leave Forks rather than risk revealing that they are vampires, it is almost too much for eighteen-year-old Bella to bear, but she finds solace in her friend Jacob until he is drawn into a "cult" and changes in terrible ways."

Just awesome. I recommend this series to everyone. I keep hearing everyone complain how whiny Bella is, but she has her moments of strength too. I never expected anything that happened in the second book after finishing the first one. A nice surprise, and I can not wait to get my hands on the next in the series.

    • I'm sorry, I just don't like this book as much as the original. When he left, I stopped reading it.

    • This one was painful at times but necessary. I recommend re-reading it after you've finished the Saga. It's less painful once you know the end. We had to know Bella and Jacob's relationship and its complexities.
