Although this book started out as if it were just another fictional composition, the story reveals the theme gradually and eventually presents the moral towards the end of the book. Even if you are not interested in what is taught through the literature, but simply want to read about the account of an underage cabdriver, I would say that this book contains a pretty dramatic yet interesting story line. Thus, I recommand this piece of work to everyone of you~!

19 yr old male cab driver is protagonist---gets a series of cryptic clues via playing cards. Some humor (he owns a vile-smelling dog called the Doorman), some romance (his best friend also cabbie ignores his interest in her), some psychology (his mother hates him because he reminds her of his dead father). The ending gets kind of messy & confusing---I'm not really sold on it---but a worthwhile read, nonetheless. Has an important message: kindness matters, people.

  • suspenseful

Excellently Written. A story about a man and messages. The words kept me wondering and reading to find out what would happen next. The epitome of this book is its ending. The last sentence pieces the whole book together and gives the story and characters meaning.

  • Nice

Well written and interesting history. Ed seems the typical man that is still a teenager. But the problem is an other: the loss of desire and of project for the future. The solution is fantastical but deep.
