    Sono così numerosi i libri letti che vorrei inserire su anobii che non so se ce la farò mai, ma Tender is the Night merita assolutamente di figurare. È stato uno dei primi libri che ho letto quando il mio inglese ha superato il livello di sopravvivenza, direi forse in quarta liceo.
    L'eleganza dello stile di Scott Fitzgerald è indiscutibile, ma quello che rende memorabile questo libro è la percezione chiara e inquietante che sotto la patina di pacata perfezione c'è una storia misteriosa e tormentata. Cosa c'è di indicibile nella storia di Dick e Nicole? Cos'ha visto Violet a Villa Diana? Devo rileggerlo!

  • Well... I'm a sucker for tragic love but this moved me even less than The Great Gatsby. In theory this would have been great with the mad wife and all but somehow Fitzgerald manages to keep me at a long distance from both the story and the characters.
