Just a few pages in, I found that I had high hopes for this sequel. Edward leaves, and Bella is able to pursue a more appropriate relationship with Jacob Black and to try to re-kindle some normal friendships with her schoolmates. However the reprieve from Edward is all too short. From that point on, I found myself disliking Bella and all of her melodrama more and more with each page of this book.
I was devastated when Edward left Bella, not leaving a trace of the Cullen’s existence. I was distraught to see that Bella slipped into her zombie like state, not talking to anyone, not eating, not even remembering the months that passed by when she snapped out of her daze. Jacob is a nice boy & makes a great friend always watching her back, but I prefer Edward. I hope things will stay strictly platonic between them, & maybe Edward will turn Bella one day. Although I must wonder what will become of Bella & Jacobs friendship if she does become a true member of the Cullen family.
At the risk of sounding as deranged as Edward finds Bella, I'd really love to jump into this book and have a go at being Bella. These stories definitely swallow you up like only a truly great book can. And while I have a lot of books I love and have read over and over, I can't really think of the last one that had this kind of effect on me. (Discounting Twilight, since it's still the same story.) Stephenie Meyer may be claiming her own Revered Author Shelf in my room!
This book was so much better than the first. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't stop until it was finished. It took me a day to read this large book. Stephenie Meyer wrote these in a wonderful, suspenseful and romantic way.

The first part of this book made me so depressed when Edward left Bella and my heart ached as I read but I couldn't put it down because I had to believe that they would end up back together. Their reunion and the way she saves Edward's life is great and made me feel whole again. I felt so much better knowing Edward and Bella were happily together again as a couple.
Loved this book, I am totally addicted to the series now, I cannot wait to get my hands on eclipse!
Bella, once again mellodramatic, this time over Edward's absence, goes into a deep depression and becomes deluded with hallucinations and craziness (because that's the sign of a healthy relationship). Bella, once again mellodramatic, this time over Edward's absence, goes into a deep depression and becomes deluded with hallucinations and craziness (because that's the sign of a healthy relationship). She starts to hang out with Jacob and actually becomes a bit less crazy and possesses a bit more personality, I liked that. While the idea that Bella CANNOT function or remain an independent personality from Edward really annoys the crap out of me, I loved the pre-werewolf stuff Bella goes through with Jake. Rest is a waste and completely ridiculous. The "Quite Good" is only for the part I mention.
