It's a great book! The sequel to Twilight
This sequel to Twilight is more about Bella's werewolf friend Jacob and the warm friendship they developed after Edward left Bella.
I found this to be the hardest one to read. When Edward leaves Bella and she is so lost for so long...it's heart wrenching. And it makes the book move slowly. It is nice to see and learn more about Jacob.
This isn't as good as Twilight, but I had to read it in order to read the last two! But you really should read it just to get an understanding of what Bella is going through in the next two books.
Okay, I have to be honest - the first half of this book was really rough - depressing, and not much action. But I loved Twilight and was determined to follow through. At almost exactly half way, something happens and suddenly the book is more interesting. I LOVED the second half. So, two stars f ... Continue

This book was so much better than the first. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't stop until it was finished. It took me a day to read this large book. Stephenie Meyer wrote these in a wonderful, suspenseful and romantic way.

The first part of this book made me so depressed when Edward left Bella and my heart ached as I read but I couldn't put it down because I had to believe that they would end up back together. Their reunion and the way she saves Edward's life is great and made me feel whole again. I felt so much better knowing Edward and Bella were happily together again as a couple.
Loved this book, I am totally addicted to the series now, I cannot wait to get my hands on eclipse!

Bella, once again mellodramatic, this time over Edward's absence, goes into a deep depression and becomes deluded with hallucinations and craziness (because that's the sign of a healthy relationship). She starts to hang out with Jacob and actually becomes a bit less crazy and possesses a bit more personality, I liked that. While the idea that Bella CANNOT function or remain an independent personality from Edward really annoys the crap out of me, I loved the pre-werewolf stuff Bella goes through with Jake. Rest is a waste and completely ridiculous.
The only reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 3 was because I never have had just one book invoke every emotion out of my body. I have never cried that hard while reading a book. Extremely realistic writing style.
as most second books in a series, I felt that this book could've been better, yet Stephenie Meyer does not disappoint. This book was fantastic, despite minor falling in the beginning of the novel. The plot was okay, and the treatment of vampires and werewolves in the series is somewhat unique, but the major problem I had with the book is Stephenie Meyer's remarkable ability to misuse the English language so thoroughly. There were grammatical errors all over the place in addition to spelling and usage errors as well. A good editor and more basic grammar lessons are needed for Ms. Meyer.
I loved the ending when Bella kinda saved Edward from The Voltri(?).

Legions of readers entranced by the New York Times bestseller Twilight are hungry for the continuing story of star-crossed lovers, Bella and Edward. In New Moon, Stephenie Meyer delivers another irresistible combination of romance and suspense with a supernatural twist. Passionate, riveting, and full of surprising twists and turns, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality.
Not quite on the level of Twilgiht for me. The first half of the book just didn't hold my interest quite as well, but I had faith it was going to pick up. The lack of Edward definitely changed the mood of this book. Jacob's storyline regarding his secret was obvious of course, and I grew impatient waiting for Bella to figure it out from the very first mention of it all :) Overall, still a very good book.

Edward leaves, and Bella is able to pursue a more appropriate relationship with Jacob Black and to try to re-kindle some normal friendships with her schoolmates. However the reprieve from Edward is all too short. From that point on, I found myself disliking Bella and all of her melodrama more and more with each page of this book.
I was devastated when Edward left Bella, not leaving a trace of the Cullen’s existence. I was devastated when Edward left Bella, not leaving a trace of the Cullen’s existence. I was distraught to see that Bella slipped into her zombie like state, not talking to anyone, not eating, not even remembering the months that passed by when she snapped out of her daze. Jacob is a nice boy & makes a great friend always watching her back, but I prefer Edward. I hope things will stay strictly platonic between them, & maybe Edward will turn Bella one day. Although I must wonder what will become of Bella & Jacobs friendship if she does become a true member of the Cullen family.

Naturally, werewolves are brought into this story (although I did see that coming) as apparently we cannot have vampires without werewolves. While I enjoyed most of the book, I just didn't like the direction that it was going with Jacob Black and Bella. I do like his character, however I see where this love triangle is really being formed. I am glad with the ending though. This wasn't as good as Twilight, but still a really great book. I really recommend picking this one up.
This book was hard for me to read because I had become so attached to the main female character. In this book, she goes through a lot of pain. That being said, it was still an excellent book that I highly recommend.
The sequel is as good as the first book.
Much like the first book, it's slow and emotional descriptive for most of the book, and then the last quarter of the book races with fun.
