雖然主角是書迷熟悉的吸血鬼黎斯特(Lestat)，但開始讀《Memnoch the Devil》後卻覺得一直無法進入狀況。我一直說服自己：「鋪陳或許會無聊些，等到進入主要情節後就會開始精彩了」，但卻仍一直不見安萊絲最讓我喜愛的歌德風味(gothic)。總之，氣氛一整個就是不對啊。

First of all, this one didn't get me hooked to the story as did the first ones. Despite that I really liked the overall tone of the book. Leggere un libro di vampiri e ritrovarsi, quasi come nella Divina Commedia, ad attraversare inferno, purgatorio, paradiso; Lestat come Dante e Memnoch come Virgilio?

Leggere della passione di Cristo, della sua resurrezione, della redenzione, del Velo di Veronica ...
Io amo la Rice e lei adora la sua "creatura" Lestat ... ma renderlo protagonista di una simile "avventura" mi pare un po' esagerato.
(Dante non è fisicamente affascinante come il principe dei vampiri ma se devo leggere di certi argomenti scelgo la Comedìa.)
Bon, un po' "pretenzioso" a mio parere.
(Anne trascina comunque nella lettura e la mole del libro non si nota; come sempre.)
