There is never a real reason when somebody take their own life. Whatever the circumstances, the reality is that their mind is - alas - very depressed.
In Wallace's case, though, it is stunning to come to the conclusion that he might have been in any way depressed.
The world he depicts in "The Broom of the System" is magic. It is incredibly full of fantasy. It is full of unbelievably rich characters who all interact in a truly believably way. Wallace was only 24 when he wrote this text. That is why some parts of the book are a little naive. Notwithstanding, his world was so fascinating and charming that you really have to think there is never a real reason :(
