  • It is quite good. I like the historical information and the setting but at points it drags on a bit. I recomend it to people who like egyptian history.

Mr Smith has left the rails when it comes to his tried and true formula. There is still the romance, adventure, friendship, graphic horrors of Africa etc but he has delved into an almost 'Eddings' style of magic and mystery that I did not like. I did not see the need to make this book about 'Taita' and his mastery of sorcery. It just seemed a little too far fetched for my liking. However, if you picked this book up for the first time, were a fan of Eddings and Co and knew nothing of the previous books then you may like it.
