I love reading about classics, and I love reading memoirs and biographies, but I didn't really like the combination of the two in this book.

Towards the end of this rather too long book, Nafisi says something like "I am an academic: when I write fiction I end by pontificating". No judgement could be more fitting for this novel (?).
