"Fight club" è il primo romanzo pubblicato da Chuck Palahniuk. Ha avuto scarso successo, fino a quando David Fincher non ne ha tratto il film, dall’omonimo titolo, diventato un cult anche per merito delle magistrali interpretazioni di Edward Norton e ... (read full critics)

Anyone who says they understand Fight Club doesn't at all

A glorious, hilarious, violent, and unnerving romp through nihilism and especially anti-consumerism. Though I don't think this is Chuck's best work (probably much to the surprise of others), it is nonetheless spectacular. Every time I read it, I glean a little more from it.

Not a bad book, so far as it goes. I'm surprised by how similar it is to the movie, how much of the words were lifted straight into the film script. I was a little worried I'd either love it a dozen times more or less than the movie, but I suppose they come out about even. I'm still not buying whate ... (continue)

It's a world where men gather in the undergrounds for fight with bare hands.
Above all is a world where no one cares if you live or die.
Tyler Durden is the nihilist messiah who invented Fight Club thanks to him thousand of young men attend to their workplaces with broken noses, fallen teeth and swollen faces.
The mysterious purpose of Tyler Durden is to push is generation toward the extreme sense of hopelessness and desperation and flows them into a state of total anarchy.Generational clash, children who kill parents.
Expression of realism, prophetic and provocative romance considered since 1996 one of the most important work of the nineties. From this book the director David Fincher has extrapolated a cult film with Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and Helena Bonham Carter.

  • Film better than book; one of the few

A lot of the time, if I see a film before reading the book, I'll enjoy reading what was left out of the movie—obviously, books are way longer than films. Here, the film actually works better. I suppose it's a good thing that they made a film so loyaly to the book, and the film turned out great. Perhaps it was done so great because the story is better told as a film rather than a book. Nothing to search for here. No additional information about such great characters left out of the film for pacing purposes. Just the narrators lists going on a little longer, which is more redundant than it is revealing. Ending is pretty differnt and it works in its own right. Enjoyable and above-average.
