Il mistero delle origini della vita e dell'intelligenza terrestri, secondo Arthur C. Clarke e Stanley Kubrick.
Il libro è infatti la trasposizione letteraria, ad opera di Clarke, di quello che a tutt'oggi resta il più grande film di fantascienza di tutti i tempi.

A excellent novel.
It is hard to imagine how Arthur imagined those scenes out in space, when space travel is still a matter of imagination. And the plots in the story: AI revolting, space travel, the born of civilization etc.... is so familiar to modern SF readers which proves the influence o ... (continue)

Forse la pubblicità che si fa a questo libro è mal focalizzata. Personalmente mi aspettavo più dettagli sul conflitto tra HAL e gli astronauti.

Insomma. Qualche lato positivo ce l'ha, ma solo per chi è appassionato di esplorazione dello spazio - la cosa grave è che IO lo sono, e comunque mi è piaciuto fino a lì. Per chiunque altro penso sia semplicemente una palla mortale. Notevole una cosa: vedere come immaginava il futuro. è stato ottimista nel campo dell'esplorazione spaziale, ma ha largamente sottovalutato la comunicazione - c'è una specie di proto-internet che rispetto a quella che abbiamo è pietosa :P
