  Don’t be put off by the description, which I’ll leave to Wikipedia; this is not a cute, postmodern booklike gimmick for people with short attention spans, it’s a fully functioning novel and a very good and absorbing one. I don’t see why it hasn’t been published in Italian--the word-count thingy can easily be jettisoned--and I wish someone would get around to it (Minimum Fax?) so I can recommend it to non-English-reading friends.
