  2/3 of the book is pre-1900. It's killing me.

  It's actually not the history of Hong Kong. It's "History of Sino-anglo relation with reference to the development of Hong Kong". Could also be taken as a case example on how British rules its colonies.

  Anyway, as previously said, it is European-centered. Or governance-centered.

  And I am glad I can finish it, eventually.
