I bought this one when starting my M.Sc. thesis and it proved to be a great help and a very good book to reference when needed. The layout is clear, and notation well-chosen (I really hate it when authors use subset for subgroup, and when they don't make distinction between subgroups and proper subgroups).
This book is not for beginners, but for intermediate students who already know the basics of group theory (and preferably a bit of linear algebra, although that's not really necessary). It covers a nice range of subjects, such as group actions, series, transfer and splitting theorems and so on. Representation theory is, however, omitted.
