The story is quite catching even if the plot is simple and at the end it seemed to me to have read a Harmony romance as for the focus on characters and their passions. The background scenario are bankers and bankruptcy, but in a really simple way. Really good to spend some time whilst walking on the tapis roulant....Continua
Another well written novel by Ken Follett.
A great insight into the 1860 London high life and low life. A mysterious accident leads to years of cover ups, fueled by greed. Many twists and turns, a real page turner!
This book rivets the reader to its pages from the very beginning!!
For years, I've been reckoning "The Pillars of the Earth" as Ken Follett's best book.
I was probably wrong.
