she certainly knew how to write. this is a witty portrait of britain, and the world of publishing, just emerging from the war. coolly ironic, yet full of hidden passion.

A nostalgic look back to the years 1954 and 1955. A wonderful read. Full of strange, interesting characters. Delightful!
