The Mary Russell series bounces back in the third offering of the series. My high hopes were dashed a bit after the second book, which I found to be a bit plodding. The pacing of the third installment is much improved.

The Mary Russell series bounces back in the third offering of the series. My high hopes were dashed a bit after the second book, which I found to be a bit plodding. The pacing of the third installment is much improved.
Mary meets with a friend visiting from the Holy Land who might have an archaeological find of major importance. Soon after that meeting, she is found dead after a hit and run accident. But is it really an accident? Russell and Holmes get involved with investigating the death and bring the book to a satisfying conclusion.
