  Too short, too whimsical, too negative. But what the hell, it's his last book and I'll miss him. Vonnegut is one of my all-time favourite writers and I'd happily read his shopping list. He went out fighting. Godspeed.

  Funny and moving

  "I put my big question about life to my son the pediatrician. Dr. Vonnegut said this to his doddering old dad: 'Father, we are here to help each other get through this thing, whatever it is.'"

  Quite the funny discourse on the state of affairs in America today. However, it leaves you with a sense that you just aren't doing enough to make things better. Can any of us do enough?
