While not absolutely riveting, Woolf's compiled lecture and notes on the nature of women and fiction turned out to be more interesting, self-assured, and insightful than I had previously supposed it would be. A curious look at nineteenth century women's literature (as well as works further past and speculations about the future) and, I must say, the only work that has ever piqued my interest in reading Jane Austen.
