Read it in 2 days. I know it's pure fiction, but found some of myself in each of the characters from the London family and the family friend Gervase as well. I guess that is why I found it overall so catchy and touching.

A Friend of the Family

As an earlier reader commented 'lad lit' written by a woman. Interesting characters which developed well during the story. A fairly average read, plotwise.

I enjoyed "Ralph's Party", by the same author, but this wasn't as good. An enjoyable enough book, but nothing to shout about.

Brilliant!
I love Lisa Jewell ev'ry book's different but with her unique voice... When you have finished it you miss the characters and you would like to know somethin' more about theyr lives. absolutely Lisa Jewell's style's absolutely gorgeous. READ IT!!!!
