  • I totally loved this book. Proust capacity to describe every single detail of a scene, the interior life of the characters, and the exterior world they live in, is a constant stimulus to creativity. His book is a must for all those that want to exercise their writing skills.

  • It is quite a hard read since the book dictates the pace instead of the reader. Full of vivid and lucid descriptions of a bygone age. Quite fascinating if you are a francophile but if you want an action filled book, this one is not for you.

  • What can I say? This isn't a novel, it's a description of life. So real, painfully so, I found I could only take it in small-ish chunks.

  • Tough slog, but with great beauty.

I've never seen such long sentences and paragraphs in my life.
