William Goldman, a part from being the author of this - splendid - book, do we know him? Actually, I thought I never heard of him. Well, Billy is the author of: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The marathon man, All the Presiden'ts Men, Misery, The Princess Bride, Maverick, Charlot, The Great Waldo Pepper, The Stepford Wives just to name a few of his works. Billy worked with the best stars: Newman, Redford, Hopkins however, in his book, he never becomes full of himselves and in this pleasant book he explains how the Hollywood business world works, he tells some interesting anecdotes about some of the major movies he wrote (but always from the screenwriter pov) and eventually he shows how to elaborate an adaptation from novel to script and all the necessary work to make a movie from paper to screen. I do recommend this book to all screenwriters.
