Ten houseguests, trapped on an isolated island, are the prey of a diabolical killer. When they realize that every one of them is marked for murder, terror mounts as their number dwindles. Who has choreographed this dastardly scheme? Who will be left to tell the tale? Clues and red herrings abound in this masterpiece from Agatha Christie, her most popular mystery ever. In this complete and unabridged recording, reader Norman Barrs portrays ten different people-with all the subtle shadings of each voice and character-a masterpiece in its own right. 4 cassettes.

I read many of Christie's books in Chinese back in my high school days. I was addicted to it at the time. This is the first time I read her book in English. I have to admit that it's quite different to read it in English. There are some expressions that I am not familiar with especially those are paticularly used in UK. However, I feel that I can read more close to the characters and understand a bit more.
This one story is a very unique one and a great challenge to the readers. The clues are quite clear but you won't find out who the muderer is as easy as the story takes a surprising turn. I was totally blown out by the outcome at the end and can't wait to start my next Chiristie book.

  • I purchased this and began reading it. I thought it required knowing bridge to solve the mystery. Yet, seeing how many folks have this on their list and the popularity of the book, it is perhaps a different reason why I did not complete this. I will pick this up at some point.
