I used to live close to the Vatican, everybody in Rome knows about passetto and many other "surprises" Dan Brown is trying to sell...american friends, visit the city and buy a good giude, but please forget about this book!
This is better than The Da Vinci Code and a wonderful read.
An excellent thriller overall, and a good introduction to Dan Brown's work if you are a newbie. A bit more complex than the newer 'Da Vinci Code'. The movie, in my opinion, pales in comparison to the book itself. Movie=fast food, Book=quality buffet dinner!

The only down side is that it is a long book, because every action and description are written in meticulous details. It will take readers a while to finish the entire thing.
Love it, it's a must have. Very well written. I love watching movies/ tv & after reading this & a preview of the movie last night not sure I will watch as just that one change in the movie trailer killed the movie. The book was great.
I read this BEFORE The DaVinci Code and I loved it.
Robert Langdon's first adventure - takes him to Rome, where he has to try and find a bomb, before it destroys Vatican City, and all the world's cardinals with it. I liked it almost as much as The Da Vinci Code.
