The choices of species in this illustration make sense - you won't see commonplace animals like dogs or cats included for the sake of completeness. All that are chosen are "respectable" creatures that I can marvel at. The contents are detailed, precise, with amazing photographs.
Particular focus is paid on their conservation status and regional distribution. Altogether a complete pleasure reading it.
By no means is it a pocket encyclopedia though, unless you're a kangaroo.
