This was a reread. I read the book when I was young. I felt I was meeting an old friend. While the language snd descriptions from a slower, quieter time of life may frustrate the modern mind, the sentiments and values portrayed by Anne are as valid today as ever - perhaps more so, as we live in an a ... Some have criticized this book for being overly sentimental. But for those who cannot appreciate the simple charm and captivation of innocent childhood, I have no sympathy. This is a lovely, sweet, enchanting book which every young girl should read.
