Some have criticized this book for being overly sentimental. But for those who cannot appreciate the simple charm and captivation of innocent childhood, I have no sympathy. This is a lovely, sweet, enchanting book which every young girl should read.
This is my favorite young adult novel. A rich, textured story, beautiful in detail and so fun to read that the pages fly by.
