Liza never knew that falling in love could be so wonderful . . . and so confusing.

"'Liza,' Mom said, looking into my eyes, 'I want you to tell me the truth, not because I want to pry, but because I have to know. This could get very unpleasant . . . Now--have you and Annie--done any more than the usual experimenting . . . '

'No, Mom,' I said, trying to look back at her calmly. I'm not proud of it, I make no excuses--I lied to her."

It took my heart.../ Ha preso il mio cuore....

Annie on my mind took my heart in its hand and led me through a beautiful simple sweet love story which I could feel part and parcel of .. No complicated scenarios, no strange vocabulary but literature that speaks to the heart.

“Annie on my mind” ha preso il mio cuore in mano e mi ha traghettato attraverso una storia dolce, bella e semplice in cui mi potevo sentire tutt’una. Nessun scenario complicato né vocabolario strano ma letteratura che parla al cuore.

Quite boring, to tell the truth. I found the author could have been more daring (the obstacle to the love affair was, frankly, risible); I also think the novel would have improved if the love story had been less central in favour of the priva ... (continue)

"Annie, today I went outside and in the snow in the courtyard outside my dorm I built a replica of my childhood monster and whished you were with me. My snow monster was pure and white and guiltless, and I looked at it, Annie, and it struck me that it can never turn black and ugly like the monster of my childhood, because what is guiltless about it is what it is, not necessarily what it does. Even if sometimes what it does is bad, or cowardly, or foolish, it itself is still okay, not evil. It can be good, and brave, and wise, as long as it goes on trying.
And then, Annie, I tore the monster down, and whished again that you were with me..."

Finito di leggere questa mattina [14/05/10] alle due e venti, perchè non riuscivo a staccarmi dalle pagine. E anche solo per il lieto fine ne è davvero valsa la pena ^____^~
