After the notoriety of his recent adventures in Antarctica, the Marine Corps decide they want him well out of the media's reach - so assign him to the US President's helicopter known as Marine One. In this new role, Schofield will be escorting the visiting President on an inspection tour of the base itself. But, already waiting and watching, there are certain people there who don't plan on the head of state ever leaving the place alive. This book was action-packed. The whole book was about different military groups fighting one another to get their hands on an invaluable prize. The problem was it was a bit difficult to visualize and keep up with battle scenes when all of them are described in mere words. Eventually i just gave up on keeping track of the scenes and just took everything at face value - not fantastic since i did not get a more personal insight into the characters? I reckon this book would be brilliant if it was turned into a movie!

Also, this book is apparently a sequel to Ice Station although it can be read as a stand-alone.
