Protagonista è Arzach, uno strano individuo che vaga a cavallo di una specie di pollo (senza penne) volanti tra battaglie gigantesche, giganti, camere da letto di fascinose donzelle, in un tripudio di ambienti fantastici e colori stupefacenti. Al suo apparire destarono sensazione il disegno fantastico, l'uso del colore e del tratteggio, che da allora sono un riferimento obbligato per tutti i fumettisti. Fu la prima star di METAL HURLANT, la rivista che rivoluzionò il fumetto negli anni '70.
