  witty, down to earth and funny though sometimes whiney view on raising kids when you were brought up in the 60s and 70s with the goal to be your own woman and live your life to the fullest! Actually heard the author speak with her husband this week - and she is as charming as the book ( though many of the off the cuff asides in the reading actually came from the book); There was a little feeling though of smugness that you also get in the book of someone who is pretty pleased with her choices (of her man, her new career, and her fame of being a "bad mother") but maybe I'm just a little jealous...
