A lovely book about a Tanzanian woman who lives in Kigali and bakes cakes for any occasion. Through the people she meets and bakes cakes for we get to know the individual life stories of ordinary people in the aftermath of the Rwandan genocide of the Tutsis. Beautifully written and full of humanity.

Very similar to Alexander Macall Smith's "Mma Ramotswe" series. The setting, being in Rwanda, is interesting and provides a few insights on living in that particular post-war situation. Distracting and well written, it's a more cultural choice of travel book than the "I love shopping" type!
