I cannot believe I let this sit on my shelf for a year unread. An amazing combination of thriller, comedy, social commentary and probably a few other things. The first 20 pages made me laugh more than all the books I read last year combined. Then Bazell switches gears and the book really takes off. Great debut, it reminded me of the best Palahniuk with a noir angle. Bazell walks well the fine line between satire and thriller. Even in the most hyperbolic moments, the reader gets the idea that the author knows what he's talking about, then willfully chooses to ignore it.
