  I couldn't put this young-adult novel down. Samantha, the protagonist, is one of the popular girls in high school. She and her catty friends are mean to the unpopular kids. In Chapter One, Samantha dies. She then begins to relive the last day of her life, over and over -- a teenage Groundhog Day. You see how much small differences in what a person does can change things drastically. So many events, both large and small, shape the paths we end up taking in life. You also see the human side of the "mean" girls. This is a first novel for Lauren Oliver. I'll be watching for future works.

  Interesting idea; not exceptionally original, but well executed.
  Pity about the cast of characters: how am I supposed to care about a bunch of spoiled, mean rich brats - if not to see them getting their comeuppance?
  Which they *don't* get, hence the two stars.

  I loooved this book su much (and I'm really impressed of that. To be honest I started it thinking it will be a good book, not a great book, just a good one but as I read and read I realized what an amazing story it was. The characters are very real, Sam grew on me as she started to change to the point I wished she could succeed, even her friends, Elody, Lindsay and Ally because we can get to see more that just the usually "popular girls", and see them as human beings. I'm inlove with Kent (I want a boy like him!) and his relationship with Sam evolves even when It's really been only one day. There might been 7 days of the same day, but in each one we go with Sam into every single posibility that never gets boring. And on top of that is a book that deals with bullying in a unique way that leave us reflecting about it and that hopefully will get the message to the teens that need it.

  I did not like Samantha at once, she was so rude and there were times when I just wanted to put down the book and quit reading it. But I continued. When I finished the book, I cried and cried
