Belle and Sebastian

The first biography on the quintessential alternative rock band Belle Sebastian According to a July Entertainment Weekly article, alternative rock is to music today what Britney Spears was to music in the late 90s. Maybe that's why the indie-pop group Belle Sebastian's fifth full length album sold over 280,000 copies in its first month on sale. Maybe it's their legions of cult-like fans who have followed the group since their first album in 1996 or their presence in such tweener hits as The O.C., The Gilmore Girls and The Gossip Girl series, that has turned this once word-of-mouth sensation into an icon of indie-rock.
