I continui flashback e l'andare avanti e indietro nella storia non sono riusciti, contengono eccessive ripetizioni e lasciano un'impressione di sperimentalismo inefficace.
I suppose the author meant to create a "claustrophobic" (as many, indeed, defined it), anguishing novel. However, the constant usage of the same few phrases; the presentation of that same scene, in slow motion, over and over; the scant information on the characters provided by the flashbacks; it all contributed to the creation of a tedious, rather than claustrophobic, atmosphere.
