Book Description
In the small village of Hawkins Hollow, three best friends who share the same birthday sneak off into the woods for a sleepover the evening before turning 10. But a night of pre-pubescent celebration turns into a night of horror as their blood brother oath unleashes a three-hundred year curse.
Twenty-one years later, Cal Hawkins and his friends have seen their town plagued by a week of unexplainable evil events two more times - every seven years. With the clock winding down on the third set of seven years, someone else has taken an interest in the town's folklore. Quinn is a well known scholar of local legends, and despite Cal's protests, insists on delving in the mystery. But when the first signs of evil appear months early, it's not only the town Cal tries to protect, but also his heart.

It seems obvious (though I haven't read the other two books yet) that it will follow her tradition of three friends/cousins/siblings that each find a mate, one for each books... but aside from that, it really reads mo ... It seems obvious (though I haven't read the other two books yet) that it will follow her tradition of three friends/cousins/siblings that each find a mate, one for each books... but aside from that, it really reads more like a Stephen King horror book. Good versus evil - slimy dark creepy evil stuff happens, but with a little bit of romance to lighten things up. This one leaves you hanging, though - it's definitely just the first third of a complete story.
The synopsis made this book sound promising. It wasn't. The writing reminded me of bad teen fan fiction and the sarcastic, clipped dialogue was like an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The characters were cardboard and acted like they were in high school (they were around 30 by the way). I had t ... Continue

First of the Sign of Seven Trilogy

However, is it just me or does this book strongly remind the reader of her Circle Trilogy? I mean the Circle Trilogy was great, and this Sign of Seven trilogy is good too... it just seems very similar.
Not that it has to be a bad thing. I still enjoyed Blood Brothers.
