  • Love me some Tina Fey.

It got me laughing pretty good a couple of times. Really enjoyed reading about the SNL/30 Rock days.

Pretty sure the book was written for a female audience though, as evidenced by sentences like, "Alright ladies, here are some tips on how to do a photo shoot." She also v ... (continue)

Pretty sure the book was written for a female audience though, as evidenced by sentences like, "Alright ladies, here are some tips on how to do a photo shoot." She also vents quite a bit and retaliates at anyone who took at shot at her, but...it's her book...and as long as there's funny lines in there, that's totally cool with me!

  • Funny and interesting, but it left me with a weird feeling of unfinishedness.

  • I'm in love with Tina Fey and adored reading this book. She's one of the funniest actors in modern tv and a very intelligent lady.

This book, if not read to you by Tina Fey herself, will simply not be as hilarious as it could be. There were copious moments of laugh out loud humor throughout. While there are parts of the book that men simply won't be able to appreciate (being, well, men), this should not discourage anyone from downloading it. The book demonstrates how hard it can be to break into the 'men's club' of comedy, and why we need more Feys and Rudolphs and Wiigs and Poehlers. You can easily sense Fey's anger at this state of affairs, and let's be honest: why keep these women out? Are we keeping the next two spaces open for the second coming of Milton Berle? (Two seats necessary, one for him and the other for his enormous and legendary, um, endowment). It's also another take on the pros and cons of SNL-type sketch comedy. Obviously Fey is a supporter of it, but it has its decided drawbacks, which she perhaps unconsciously chronicles later in the book in discussing the repeated Sarah Palin sketches. Funny as these are, they can also discourage more creative endeavors, and ultimately become stale (see her latest appearance as Palin on SNL as proof). If you like her, or comedy, or just really manly hands on book covers, get it.
