This book contains the Proceedings of the Nineteenth International Conference on Boundary Element Methods in Engineering, which was held in Rome, Italy, September 9-12, 1997.

The conference is recognized internationally as the forum for Boundary Element research and always attracts a large number of well-established practitioners and leading researchers in the field.
