The psychological tension of this situation, described from the psychopathological point of view of protagonist Pinky and his gang, is the subject of the book. When will he stop? When will he be safe?

  This is not a detective story or a murder mystery. It is a tense and spare novel about the mind of one who has no conscience.

• My husband just finished reading this book, towards the end he just couldn't put it down...he even delayed eating his breakfast to finish it! I definitely want to start reading it now.

  It's all in the atmosphere

  Great to see Graham Greene back in the bookshops and here's hoping a new generation will discover his quirky characters, slow burning plots with interesting undercurrents, but especially his very original and readable style.
