  On last year's holiday I picked up this book from a stack of books I found in the house my wife and I were staying at. To be honest, I thought it was a horror genre sort of book, in the swift judgement I'd made of the cover. Well, it's actually a cop book, and I haven't read a cop book since I was a kid, trawling through Sherlock Holmes (is he classed as a cop?). Anyhows, I found it easy to read and noticed that it was quite fast-paced and exciting, with shootings and murders occurring here and there - I guess as you'd expect, if you were used to reading this genre.
  So, the plot keeps you interested, there are some interesting threads that pull together mostly ok (I struggled a teeny bit with some of them) at the end, the book is certainly worth a casual read. I understand that this is one of a series of novels with the same cop characters. Would I track down the others... well... errrrm, maybe not "track them down", but if I found one on a train...
