"Can Capitalism Survive?" is the most eye-catching question of the book. The author's answer is that "No, I do not think it can". As the author says, the interesting part is not the answer itself but the arguments leading to the answer. This book was written in 40s, and with benefit of hindsight we can easily discard some of those arguments or even the answer. However, Schumpeter's way to present his logic, though not easily understood indeed, has charm to keep you reading. The current global financial crisis in fact makes me restart reading this book (started but put aside before). It is also interesting to read it along with the end of history. Hope I can finish reading by the end of Nov.
