In the first book of this series, you learn of five different "humanoid" species that live alongside humans. The first book focuses on the main character. This second book centers on the Barani, a very powerful, very beautiful race of super intelligent and super arogant beings. And yet, Kaylain, the main character, manages to earn their respect. Totally worth the read.
