Onestamente...non finiva mai!! Molto, ma davvero molto, meglio il film.

I adore not only the plot, I also relished how the author made me forget who I was and allowed me to truly be immersed in this world. Though painful to read about the war their are moment of beauty, which is all to real. I would recommend this book to anyone, even if you are not into epic novels, because the underlying love, scenery, and courage makes it worth a look.

Parte lento, facendosi accattivante durante il percorso, ma poi corre troppo durante il finale, che comunque non ho ben compreso. Triste, ma fondamentalmente ben scritto.

No easy happy endings, and illuminating on the complexities of wartime France. More complex and nuanced than the heroic resistance plot familiar in our history books.
