A great way to view American life through the eyes of an Italian. Towards the end of the book the author sums up American life with the 5 "C's":
All of these do a basically good description of the American mind-set. Many things work better in America, (see his description of setting up house when they first arrive), but many things baffle the author about American life. I still don't understand Italian and Europeans concept of the danger of ice water. Mark Twain even noted this almost 150 years ago.

One funny part of traveling is picking on the differences in lifestyles and cultures through daily experience and encounters with people. That's exactly what the author is doing in the book.
